Blogging to the Bank 2.0 is Rob Benwell's sequal to his original bestseller, Blogging to the Bank. I've never read the original product, but I recently got my hands on new version 2.0. There are many blog information products out there, so is Blogging to the Bank any different? Not really.
The general idea behind Rob's program is to use blog's to get search engine traffic in order to sell affiliate products. The process is time-tested and simple. Find a underserved niche and blog about that niche, marketing affiliate products along the way. Blogs are well established as a way to get traffic from search engines, and this method of online income relies on this fact.
In the book it goes through the general process of finding a profitable niche and choosing the best affiliate products to market in that niche. There is also a significant amount of information about blogging in general and some recommendations about blogging platforms and important plugins to use in your blog. The biggest problem that I have with Blogging to the Bank 2.0 is that there is very little original information in it. The vast majority of the product contains information that is common knowledge to anyone who has blogged before or information that is available for free elsewhere.
The only valuable sections of the book, in my opinion, are when Rob talks about the most effective ways to advertise on your blog and where to locate your ads. There is also a decent section on Web 2.0 marketing techniques to increase traffic to your blog. Most of the book is appropriate for beginning marketers, as those with more experience will likely find very little new information. As usual, the sales copy includes promises of huge profits with little effort, but this is once again misleading. This method of marketing does work, but it will take a significant amount of time and effort to be successful with it.
So, would I recommend Blogging to the Bank 2.0? Not really. The book could have some value for beginners, but I honestly believe you can find much of this information for free if you spend 30 minutes researching. I'd save your money on this one.
