If you've read any of the marketing books that
focus on pay-per-click advertising, you've probably already heard of
Wordtracker. It is used and recommended by nearly all of

recommendations, of course I had to check it out.
Like many
others that I've talked to, the price of the service seemed
outrageous to me. Wordtracker only offers two packages, a monthly
package for $59 per month and an annual package for $329. Well it
doesn't take a math major to figure out that the annual package
provides huge savings. At the time, $59 per month seemed like a
crazy amount to be spending for keyword research, but the annual
package equated to less than $30 per month which was much easier to
swallow.
After subscribing and using the service for a few
months, I realized that it was worth it at either price. Wordtracker
can help you with many of the most difficult aspects of internet
marketing and saves an incredible amount of time. One great tool for
brainstorming is the included Keyword Universe Tool. This tool
allows you to type in a very general keyword for your web page or ad
and receive a huge list of related keywords that might also be
applicable to your site.
Once you have your list of keywords,
you can click on any keyword to see how the word is being used in
longer search terms. For example, if you clicked on the keyword
"affiliate marketing", it would return phrases like "affiliate
marketing programs" and "affiliate marketing help". For each
keyword, Webtracker will show you how many times that keyword was
searched for in the last 24 hours in their database and also predict
how many times the word is searched each day across all search
engines.
In addition to showing you how often a term is
searched for, Webtracker can also provide information on the amount
of competition for each term. This is extremely useful information
to have. By knowing the competition, you can focus your keywords on
terms that have less competition in order to rank higher in
searches.
These are only a couple of tools that Webtracker
offers. This is absolutely the best site out there for keyword
research and information. While the service seems a little
expensive, it will help you increase your traffic and cut
advertising costs significantly. I think you'll find that it pays
for itself in no time at all.
